Russian LG Cossacks WIP3

A good bit progress on my Sho Boki LG Cossacks 17 down 7 to go!

3 more troopers then onto trumpeters and officers

Starting to look like a unit now

Can't see the shading on the trousers, coat or horse in the pic but it's there. Really enjoying these guys now.

That's me for the moment, awe ra best and happy wargaming!

  7. Lovely work as always Paul.
Very impressed with the amount of detail on the faces at this scale, do you use any extra magnification to help with this?

    1. Thanks Jacksarge, up until May June I didn't use any magnification however I noticed a slight change in my eyes when painting piping on the collars so a friend put me onto the clas ohlson lamp magnifier. It's weird as for these guys some days I can paint the eyes no bother and then the next day I use it for the lutzen. It's a handy bit of kit but can give you a little to much detail at times.

    1. Thanks Ru, yeah I painted them as a response to a buddy who continually ribs me on doing to much detail. I don't usually put eyes in as they don't need them. Easier than you think though.

  10. I admire your willpower as well as the painting skill. Word of warning though: you only get one pair of eyes - use the lamp!

    1. Cheers Gary, I use a regular lamp for painting usually. The magnifier was a tip from a friend. My brother got it and it has helped him greatly

    1. Thanks Ben, just adding a little hair variation so they don't all look the same.
