On 27th March 2016, Easter Sunday my nephew David and myself were lucky enough to be invited along to the Falkirk Wargames Club held in Grangemouth to take part in a day of Napoleonic gaming. There were 2 battles on the go at once, 2 tables of 1813 Napoleonic goodness.

Good to see my Silesians in action. Games like this are a great way to see what you still need to paint to complete your collection and surprisingly for my Prussians I'm not so very far off.
Also my recently finished Saxon terrain got a look in on both tables.

At the end of the game everything had ground to a halt.
The final result, a very hard fought draw.
So that was game No.1 and hopefully over the next week or 2 I'll get a chance to put pictures up from game No.2 that I took part in.

DeleteGreat looking game. I believe the mystery infantry are Grand Duchy of Berg - there were 4 such regiments, IIRC.

Thanks Peter, the lad who owns them for some reason didn't know a lot of his troops. He seems to buy painted figures by the bucket load and use them as is. Thanks for sorting that out!

This is wonderful! little soldiers in 15 mm AB are the best suited to play the Napoleonic period, and since these figures are painted with great quality, have resulted in a magnificent wargame table. Congratulations and greetings from distant Argentine Republic. Carlos

ReplyDeleteThe gaming here is on a slow burn at the moment in several different periods. Sharp Practice 2 is published on the 23 of this month - perhaps - and that may well kick off some skirmish gaming and there has been talk of a GdeB game.

ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed it sarge! The chits were commissioned from figures in comfort in the uk for the big Waterloo game the guys put on last year. I believe Alisdair painted the inner sections of the chits. Very nice they are to.

DeleteYeah the music doesn't really fit the battles but they are free lol. I know I could hunt down some sounds but they do. I'm glad you enjoyed the pics, it's nice to have had the chance to get everything out. Also inspired to get more done especially as it's our chosen timescale!
