Prussian WIP 5/5/15

Sorry for the lack of blog posts, I have been busy painting when I can but have been hooked on doing YouTube videos. There are an awful lot of enthusiastic painters and wargamers posting videos, so much so that it's hard not to be inspired! Anyways for the month of May I've entered into a painting challenge and this is what I'm hoping to get finished by doors close at the end of May, varnished and grassed . . .

So I chose AB Lieb Hussars and a horse battery as my units I wanted to get done in May. I prepared everything before May and also got a head start on the horses and guns.

I also had the officers 80-90% done before starting so just the fine detail on them to do plus the rest are either base coated or a little further forward.

I managed to get all the chest braid done today over a gray base shade I did yesterday.

Another 4 that were well on the way before day 1. I have to say that the painting challenge has been a brilliant way to keep the creative juices flowing however
 there is a long way to go.

      Thanks Peter, can't decide on a shade for the black yet? Want to stay away from grey as everything else is grey and also blue because of the Brandenburg regiment

      Thanks David, just started them, they are a lot faster and easier to do than blog posts and although the quality is a little low there are a lot of helpful folks around. Nice community.

    Admire your determination and focus of all participating in the challenge.

    At this rate what will you do for the rest of May?

    Very jealous of your dedicated time and space to do this. With friends and family trips, and work shifts I think I could muster 3 days in the whole of May! Woe is me😩just have to console myself with prepping and priming.

      Thanks Didge, just so happens I booked 2 separate weeks off in May. I'll see if I can hold it together as when it gets down to the detail work it takes me an age.

      We all go through those weeks and months. The last couple of years I was pretty slow. Keep preping 😉

    Thanks des, very kind of you. Great to see you taking up the Carluke Wargames blogging!!! I tried to encourage others to get some pics up online when my shifts changed so it was a pleasant surprise to see you had created 1!
