15mm Prussian 1806 (3)

In between working on my Saxons I thought it was about time I posted some more pics of Von Blucher (Johns) excellent early Prussian collection.

This time up are the infantry, not sure of the regiments name so hopefully John will fill us in?

I have the officer in this set but he is destined to be head swapped into a Bavarians officer at some point.

And the lights (jagers?). My brother David and I painted a good few 15mm Minifigs in this uniform basically because we followed the Funcken and thought that the main Prussian troops were in green (seems daft now but we were just starting out and we didn't know anything).

The AB early Prussians look the business . . .

. . . and John has done a fine job with them!

I hope everyone is getting back into the swing of painting etc after Christmas and New Year, I'm snowed under at work at the moment and don't get nearly enough time to paint or even look around blogs. Thanks to everone who has followed my we blog and feel free to leave a link to your own in the comments as sometimes when I click on the avatar there is no returning link. All the best!!!

The Prussian army as ever - as if on parade! In orderly rows .... :) Well done!!!

They look great! My first army was a Prussian one and I didn't have a clue about organisation either although by fluke I ended up with a fairly historical OOB. In my French army however I had 3 units of line Grenadiers and no Fusiliers!

Fantastic work John, great painting.....

Excellent looking units as ever, the 1806 prussians are certainly more colourful than the 1813 lot - also I'm still learning about uniforms and unit organisations myself. Hence the snafu about the kings colours

Paul, Thank you again on posting these.
The Musketeers are from Ruechel IR2
Regiment. These are part of my rebasing project as my original bases were all mounted 3 deep. I'm torn on whether to show 2 flags or 1 for each battalion. So while I sort that out, I've halted rebasing any more of the musketeers.

These are only 2 of the 4 Jaeger Battalions I have painted. I was originally going to create my army for the Chef de Battalion rules at 1 to 5, years ago. So now I have more Jaegers than were in the Prussian Army of 1806. These are also based in pairs and have sabot magnetic bases to hold 2 companies at a time. The French will never know what hit them, when I get these bad boys on the table.

Thanks for commenting everyone, Totally agree Johns figures are ace!

John,
It's completely up to you if you go with 1 or 2 flags as they look great as is though if you have the extra command figures your half way there.

What rules are you basing them for now? Are you playing GdeB?

Crazy joe, I would if I could but I would have to travel a good old distance to get them ;0)

Tonight I just finished army paintering my 2nd Saxon battalion and coverted 2 sappeurs (1 for the lights) so I am happy!!!

All the best and happy painting
Best rgeards

Thanks everyone for your kind comments, you help by adding fuel to my fire.

Paul,
When ordering the rest of my Fusilers recently, I added some Musketeer Standard Bearers so I can have the battalions have 2 flags. I've been pondering this for quite a while. I already have all the flags I need as my original intension years ago was to do 2, I just didn't have enough standard bearers.

Yes these are based for GdB, so the Prussian Battalions are 32 figures. The Jaegers were allocated by Companies. That's why my sabot bases hold 16 figures or 2companies.

Yeah I thought you were basing for GdeB.

I know nothing about the 1806 Prussians expect what I have read i my Ospreys however I sem to drop info very easily if I read something else.

Paul, thanks for posting pictures of John's 1806 Prussians. They are truly inspirational. I have quite few units 1806 Prussians and this makes me want to add to them. Your idea of using the Prussian officer with a head swap for a Bavarian is perfect. I may try it also. Thanks again, Bill.

Your very welcome Bill, I'll hopefully post more of Johns Prussians soon.
