My nephew David and I had a painting session on Sunday past so I was able to take a few pics of his WIP French cavalry.
David's Vistula lancers, just the basing of the back ranks to be finished. He put the sand on them Sunday so should be finished soon.
12 chasseur a cheval in pink facings finished so just 12 to go.
And 6 guard lancers on the go.
That's all for the moment, thanks for looking.

gosh!...The Vistula lancers look awesome! as do your other cavalry as well!...
cheers,
All very pretty, and the basing is really effective. Funny how much that brings alive already well-painted figures. Almost makes me want to jump back into my own long-stalled 15mm corps-level Waterloo era project.
Best Regards,
Stokes
Love the Vistula lancers, great job!
All looking great.
A bit of annoying nit picking pedantry which can safely be ignored - the lists I have for the French Chassuers show the the 7-8-9th with pink ("Rose", usually shown as a rather pale shade without much purplish tone to it), and the 10th-11th-12th with Crimson "Cramoisi" facings (usually shown as a dark, perhaps somewhat purplish red, not to be confused with the infamous "POlish Crimson"). I'd call the facings as seen closer to Amranth (purplish pink, Murat's favorite color)... which facings were worn by the 28th-29th-30th regiments.
All of which is apropos of not much, as they're great just the way they are!
Chasseurs! Possibly the most under-represented French cavalry after Dragoons. And nicely painted too!
Great as usually!
Interesting that i have same polish and guard lancers with chasseurs on workbench.
Damn another excellent painter in your family !!
Talented family I say!
I don't understand painting or basing in small batches, I've always done everything at once be it 6 slingers or 300 warband! I can't argue with these results though - very pretty indeed.
Best wishes,
Jeremy
He's a talented lad, well I couldn't paint 300 in a go, smell batches of the same pose I do at a time till the unit is finished and ready to base however David works away from home a lot so getting a batch/company based at a time helps him see progress sooner than if he has a 24 horse cavalry regiment 1/2 done in the painting desk
Yes David has done a grand job.
Thanks stokes, yeah the basing does bring them to life. Good luck in your waterloo project!
Thanks phil, he did a grand job on them!
Cheers Peter, I'm sure they will remain the shade David has them.
I love the look of the chasseurs, I have a few regiments myself to paint way in the future.
Thanks Dmitri,
That's a coincidence and a half!
Thanks Sgt Steiner, very kind of you. My brother is the most prolific painter, just not naps at the moment.
Wonderful work by all!
Christopher
Great painting! Lovely work :)
A cavalry candy shop
wait for the fighting! Cant wait to see how they do against Russians
Thanks christopher!
Thanks Chasseur and a regiment of your favourites under way to !
Treats all around for sure!!!
Excellent work, well done.
David did an excellent job on these. Of course this means you going to have to work on some more cavalry regiments to keep the balance against the French.
Been up to my ears in work, which is why I've been so quite lately.
I'm sure they will roll right over your russians Des!
Yeah David has done a fine job Jonathan thanks!
Yeah I know john, thankfully David has some allied cavalry planned to. I think I'm burned out with cavalry at the moment.
No worries john, I figured you were snowed under. Hope you get a quiet patch soon for time for yourself.
