Ok, 1st try with a post put together on iPad (strange ,I couldn't upload the pic I took on the iPad into blogger?). I've been working on a little project with plenty of head swaps. Still a long, long way to go but I wanted to share my progress.
Craig and I have been discussing Von Lutzow and his merry band for a good while now and I decided I would give them a bash. I used the AB landwehr figures for the bodies and have sampled heads from many different AB Prussians. I initially thought the horse artillery gunners would be perfect for the large landwehr bodies and they did work very well for a good few however I hadn't noticed how many size differences there were in the AB landwehr range.
I believe the advancing/firing AB Prussian landwehr are 1 of the best lines of the AB range, loads and loads of character and poses.
You may notice that Eleanor is missing? I plan to do an Eleanor casualty or maybe 2? Kawe has done a cracking 28mm Prussian medic set and I plan to try and copy 1 of the medics into 18mm to be treating the wounded drummer girl.
Fingers crossed

Nice conversion work!
I have not tried using iPad to update Blogger so I can offer no assistance.
Lot of good work there mate and probably a lot to go. Certainly worth the effort though, I think. We (me included) tend to just bash stuff out and get it on the table without taking time to be creative. On the rare occasions I do have a mess around with castings and Green Stuff, I always get much more satisfaction and the figures seem to paint better/easier.
You're a good modeller - you should do it more often! ;O)
That is good work mate, it would kill me!
I get itchy just reading about other people's head swaps and conversions, and am always impressed to seeing it done well. Crack on, that man.
I too have had problems using my iPad with Blogger. The iPad OS doesn't seem to interact well with Blogger, sadly. I now use a MacBook w Blogger no problem.
Cheers,
Michael
Good stuff Paul, I agree with other comments that head swaps on certain figures can be really satisfying to paint and add character to a unit. The 28mm guys are really spoilt with the options that plastics offer.
Best of luck with using the IPad. I have the blogger App on mine but much prefer using the laptop for ease of use
Thanks Jonathan, the iPad seems fine with the app but I took this pic with the iPad and I couldn't choose the pic like with a laptop or even like uploading pics from.ipad to Facebook etc?
thanks Gary, I appreciate the encouragement. I'll try and keep my hand in. Have thought long and hard about doing a wee bit of sculpting but I just don't have the time. There is definitely a lot of satisfaction from doing wee conversions to your troops.
Thanks Fran, hard on the digits. Drilling out the necks and heads are the sore bit. My fingers are to fat.
Thanks Michael, yeah I wondered about the compatibility. Ill have to save for a Mac however is I got 1 I may end up getting into tinkering with graphics and change my job back 10 years.
Thanks Jonathan, yes our big brothers are definitely spoilt!!! Yeah I'm not 100% with the iPad mostly because of the problem with uploading pics you have taken with it. I think it is trying to have you share yer pics on picas something or other to bring them in.
Can any of you guys using ipads point me in the direction of free apps for photo editing. Something simple would do. Just bought it so if you have found any brilliant podcasts or apps or anything I would appreciate the heads up.
Thanks
Paul
Great conversions
Re photo app I use Snapseed can't remember if it was free or not. Easy to use with decent amount of tweaks available.
Also I use the Blooger App for most of my post now and uploads pics from your photo library ok but can be hard to format the posts exactly as you want em
Great stuff Paul, looking forwarding to seeing the finished product.
John B
Thanks John, fingers crossed with them!!!
hi Sgt Steiner, I'll look out the app you mentioned. Thanks, I could see the upload from the library yet? I'll check that out.
These figures are looking good to me too, nice conversions...
Thanks Sgt S, brilliant app and downloaded the limited photoshop 1 also. Excellent!
Hi Paul,
Sorry I cannot abide any computer device that does not sport a mouse or keyboard!
You do really have a talent for converting figures and any effort will be worth it for the overall effect.
I have a picture of Lutzow in my Lutzen&bautzen 1813 osprey - he reminds me of actor George C Scott!
Cheers
Ken
Excellent looking group so far. You have the nack for great looking conversions.
I use the blogger app and find it quite easy. I can upload pics taken with ipad and pics taken with iPhone from the photo stream.
Hi Ken, I can appreciate what your saying about no mouse etc but you get used to them. Thanks in the conversions. GEORGE C. Scott. Was he Patton? seems about right!
thanks John, much appreciated. Fingers are a bit raw from them!
thanks Tzen67, yes I'm getting the hang of it now. I think the bother was editing a post that had been made on our laptop before we bought the iPad.
Very nice work Paul. Talented man and oh so patient!!
